I’ve been writing books, resources and articles for thirty years, individually, and as a co-author. Most of my titles are English textbooks and literature study guides, though I’ve also written A-Level History textbooks and titles on mythology, the Celts, and Native American culture. I have also completed a novel, Bad Things.
My republished guide Introducing the Brontës is available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle.
EDUCATIONAL
Publishers I work with include Hodder, Pearson, HarperCollins and Oxford University Press. Some of my titles (sole or co-author) are shown below. Click on covers for further information. I also write digital school resources (Hodder Dynamic Learning, Pearson, HarperCollins) and have a special interest in their development.
I have also been a series editor for Cross Academe and Hodder.
Of my recent works, strangely prescient is my KS3 English Anthology: Dystopia (Hodder), which provides creative Reading, Writing and Speaking work based on dystopian fiction, non-fiction and poetry.
I’m delighted with the success of Oxford Revise: AQA GCSE English Language (OUP), co-written with AQA examiner Graham Elsdon. See it here or on Amazon. There is also an Edexcel edition.
My latest book, co-written with Mike Gould and Babita Persaud, is the Cambridge International AS Level English General Paper student book. This covers a really interesting qualification that aims to develop critical thinking. It uses a wide range of non-fiction texts.
