TEACHING AND TUTORING
MY BACKGROUND
I have over forty years’ experience as an English teacher and examiner. My most recent classroom teaching has been GCSE and A-Level at Monmouth School. As an author of study guides and textbooks, I am up to date with syllabuses and familiar with set texts. I also write practice exams and mark schemes for independent school entry at 11+ and sixth form.
I have worked a lot with second-language English speakers studying for Cambridge International AS & A Level English Language (syllabus 9093) and the European Baccalaureate (especially L2).
TUTORIAL SESSIONS
Worried about your child catching up after missing school? I am available as a tutor to 10–18-year-olds. I am now working via Zoom, phone and email. Contact me to discuss your child’s needs.
As an examiner and author of texbooks and study guides, I know what examiners are looking for. I have helped many home-schooled and in-school teenagers to get good grades. My tutoring sessions are relaxed but productive, and I enjoy encouraging all students – especially the less confident and second-language English speakers – to reach their full potential.
